Rome, July 2, 2024 - A meeting was held this morning between Acciaierie d'Italia in extraordinary administration and the trade unions at the Ministry of Labor, in a positive and constructive atmosphere, to discuss the application for activation of the Extraordinary Wage Guarantee Fund (CIGS) provided for companies in extraordinary administration.
During the meeting, important issues emerged from the labor unions that the management of Acciaierie d'Italia in extraordinary administration will work to resolve, stressing its total willingness to find solutions shared with the unions. The company also assured a 70 percent supplement to the CIGS allowance, as well as important in-person training packages. The criterion of maximum possible rotation of the unemployed was also confirmed in order to avoid people on zero hours.
Finally, national union representatives informed the table that their confederal structures had requested a meeting with the Prime Minister's Office regarding the future prospects and revitalization of Acciaierie d'Italia. In conclusion, the Representative of the Ministry of Labor, confirmed that further meetings will be scheduled on the issue of the layoff fund, with a view to reaching a shared agreement.
