Taranto, 15 November 2024 – Acciaierie d'Italia in AS announces today the docking of the Gemma ship at the fourth protrusion of the port of Taranto. Among the largest in the world owned by a steel mill, the 330 meter long and 57 meter wide VLOC (Very Large Ore Carrier) ship left Singapore on 9 September 2024 after being blocked for over 3 years from 2020 and it arrived in the harbor of the Port on 8 November, in line with the operational program established by AdI in AS.
Once the docking is completed, we will proceed with the unloading of the over 300,000 tons of raw material taken from Brazil to fuel the production of the Taranto steelworks site. This arrival represents an important step to guarantee continuity, reliability and efficiency in the approval of the production site's raw material.
The event, which represents a fundamental stage in the restart plan, is testimony to the commitment made and the sense of belonging of the management and all the workers.
