Taranto, April 16th 2024 - The Extraordinary Commissioners of Acciaierie d'Italia spoke this morning at the celebration of the Easter Ceremony at the Taranto plant, attended by the Archbishop of Taranto, Ciro Miniero, representatives of the institutions, the Police Force, the main trade union organizations and workers.
The celebration also included the reading of a message from the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, who wanted to convey his closeness to the workers and commissioners during this important phase.
Commissioner Giancarlo Quaranta's speech focused on the value of the worker as a key figure in this transitional phase: in fact, the employee is also a citizen, an integral part of the community and the city, with whom it is necessary to engage in constant dialogue. Today's protagonist is precisely them: the worker who every day ensures operational continuity, but at the same time prepares to welcome the change to a new factory.
Giancarlo Quaranta, on behalf of the three extraordinary commissioners of Adi under Extraordinary Administration , said, “Since February 2024, we have marked our action with transparency and concreteness: we have closed inherited disputes, initiated the Sanitary Impact Assessment in advance of European obligations, responded to all legitimate requests for data and information, and included in the Company's notice of sale a commitment to decarbonization and relief for the city. We have reactivated plants in compliance with environmental standards, rebuilt the trust of historical customers, and made possible the recovery of past credits for employees and suppliers. To the employees of this factory we want to say clearly: over these years you have demonstrated competence, dignity and patience. It is on this foundation that we can build the future of the Company.”
